Sneaks on the Ave: Nike Air Trainer SC II High – ‘Blackout’

The Nike Air Trainer SC II High (and most of the 90's Trainers) are attributed to bright neon colors, like the OG Neon/Teal and the Infrared versions that made this shoe so popular.

Along comes the tonal black (what we in the sneaker community like to dub 'blackout') colorway brings the shoe back down to its barest form, emphasizing the design of the shoe without being distracted by superfluous (although admittedly pleasing) colorways.

The 'Blackout' colorway of the Air Trainer SC II High just recently dropped, and it's certainly a worthy pick-up as a hold-over until the true OG colorways hit stores. More images await you below, so take a look and pick up a pair now from 95soleman on eBay.

Technology is Fashion

Technology is literally the fashion statement of the century! Don’t believe me? Have you ever walked into an “Apple Store” and observed the ambiance? Apple has this cool, futuristic, confidence that makes you feel silly for not buying anything! Apple’s “branding” strategy is un matched as it was reported that Apple net income is more than the entire United States! How is that for a deficit solution? And tell me what do you think of someone who has an iPAD over a regular tablet or someone who has an iPHONE 4 versus a regular old Android? I’ll tell you what you think, you think “hey he/she is really cool!”  The type of cellular phone you have, electronic or computing device is now a tool to compliment your “swag”!

I believe it begin in the early 2000’s when two way pagers where beginning to be seen as a status symbol....

Sneaks on the Ave: Nike SB Omar Salazar 1.5

Omar Salazar's unconventional personality was replicated nicely in his first Nike SB signature sneaker, a mix of subtle clean styling and space age technology, so it seems only right that the first significant revision beyond the NFW releases takes the Salazar both forward and backward simultaneously.  From the looks of the Nike SB Omar Salazar 1.5, these Flywire-free joints have been pushed to the casual side with a vulcanized sole, but the notoriously unforgiving classic look belies a LunarLon insole that ensures your comfort on even the biggest gaps.  In a year when Nike SB has looked to its past for inspiration when it comes to colorways, they are flat out killing it in terms of new tech, and you can see more of these Omar Salazar 1.5s set to release next spring when you click the jump below.  via N-SB

Sneaks on the Ave: Asics GT-II – Navy Blue – Lime Green

Overshadowed in the last two decades by its Gel Lyte III successor, the Asics GT-II has returned to prominence in recent months on the strength of a few standout collaborative designs.  Proof that the Onitsuka Tiger still has what it takes to pump out quality colorways is pictured above, a classically simple two-toned upper riding a white sole

.  From a distance, these appear to be your standard Michigan-leaning navy and gold release, but a closer look reveals the accents to actually be a lime green shade, leading this pair to a surprisingly fresh result that's still quite versatile.  Check through the pics and pick up a pair from Size?, who currently have a sweet deal on flat-rate international shipping.

Sneaks on the Ave presents "FRESHNESS": Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Paul Nguyen – Wedding

Back in March, Sneaker News showed you one of the cleanest Nike Air Force 1 Bespokes to date, designed by Paul Nguyen.  Paul recently tied the knot with his longtime ladyfriend and as many hardcore sneakerheads are apt to do these days, Nguyen decided to wear a pair of his favorite kicks to the ceremony.  In Paul's case it was another AF1 Bespoke, a shoe he imagined in all croc skin with a black base and grey Swoosh for the only accent.

But when Nguyen learned from NIKEiD design consultant iZ that 21 Mercer had no grey croc left, Paul adapted and shifted his design "to give the shoe a more Asian wedding feel."  Click through to see more angles of the latest Air Force 1 Bespoke wedding design and let us know how they compare to the other kicks we've seen in formal settings.
