Weekend Box Office Results October 14, 2011 - October 16, 2011



DreamWorks Pictures' Real Steel narrowly won first place at the weekend box office to top for a second straight weekend. The Hugh Jackman-starrer added an estimated $16.3 million to bring its two-week total to $51.7 million domestically. The Shawn Levy-directed action drama, distributed by Disney, finished first overseas as well with $24.2 million for a foreign total of $56.6 million and worldwide total of $108.3 million.
Paramount's Footloose remake, directed by Craig Brewer and starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough, debuted in a close second in North America with $16.1 million from 3,549 theaters. The film was made for about $24 million.
Universal prequel The Thing opened in third place to $8.7 million from 2,996 theaters, which was below studio expectations.
In its second weekend, Columbia's The Ides of March earned $7.5 million for a total of $22.2 million so far.
Warner Bros.' Dolphin Tale rounded out the top five with $6.3 million and has collected $58.7 million after four weeks. The family film cost $37 million to produce. As always ladies and gents, we'll be back friday with the latest new releases in theaters. Until then, PEACE !!

Weekend Box Office Results October 7, 2011 - October 9, 2011



 Whats good ladies & gents ?? You know how we do on mondays here at BlvdAve. Here's the top 12 box office results of this past weekend. After weeks of new releases failing to reach the top 3 spots at box office, 2 new releases have finally put an end to what seemed to be interchanging top weekends by 'MONEYBALL,' 'DOLPHIN TALE' and 'The Lion King.' 'Real Steel,' starring Hugh Jackman, came in at Number 1 this weekend, racking in over $27 Million domestically and another $22 Million overseas to bring its debut weekend total to $49 Million.  The George Clooney drama 'The Ides of March' came in second place with a box office total of $10 Million it's opening weekend, followed by 'Dolphin Tale,' which is still going very strong  in it's 3rd week at box office with $9 Million in ticket sales this past weekend. 'MoneyBall' and '50/50' round out the top 5 at box office, drawing $7.5 and $5.5 Million in ticket sales this past weekend. Weekend Box Office Results September 30, 2011 - October 2, 2011


 
Ok guys we back at it, sorry for the delay in delivering this, didnt have a chance to post anything yesterday. Here's this past weekend's box office report. It seems most of these new movies cant catch a break in these past couple weeks, or just plain havent caught the interest of movie goers. For the past couple of weeks it's been the same movies in the top 5, just in different spots. 'Dolphin Tale' was the top dog at the box office this weekend, grossing almost $14 million, and was 3rd place last weekend. 'The Lion King' slipped 2 postions to number 3 raking in $10.6 million in ticket sales. Brad Pitt's 'Moneyball' maintained its postion at #2 drawing over $12 million at the box office. Last weekend's new releases (Courageous, 50/50, and Dream House) came in 4th, 5th, and 6th place in the top 12 respectively. Weekend Box Office Results September 23, 2011 - September 25, 2011




Ok Ladies and Gents, here is your weekend box office recap! The timeless class by Disney, 'The Lion King' continues its reign at the box office for a second straight week bringing its box office total to more than $60 Million dollars. 'Moneyball' would come in 2nd place, with $20.6 million in ticket sales, edging the 3rd place feature 'Dolphin Tale' out by only a couple hundred thousand dollars. 'Abduction' and 'Killer Elite' round out the top 5, raking in $11 and $9.5 million at the box office opening weekend.
