Sneaks on the Ave: Jordan Melo M8 'Home' and 'Away' Colors

The initial Jordan Melo M8 released to retail was a Chicago Bulls 'home' colorway released at an English Jordan Brand distributor.  Much closer to home for Carmelo Anthony is news that his eighth JB signature will soon be available at US stores in a palette that's been gaining some attention another Jumpman model of late.  This Knicks 'away' getup goes with a roughly 1:1 mix of black and royal with just a hint of orange plus white on the outsole and sockliner.  They have a more balanced feel than the all-blue Spiz'ikes but both are sufficiently dope that New York basketball fans will be going broke between all the sick releases and ever increasing ticket prices.  Will you be among the masses picking up the Knicks away Melo M8s when they hit at FinishLine  Wednesday, October 12th?

Sneaks on the Ave: Nike SB Blazer Highs - Rift Blue/Classic Chracoal/White

White-on-black Nike SB Blazer Highs and Blazer CS SBs have been available 'all day/every day' at Nike SB retailers for some time, so along with the black/Team Red and 'A Tribe Called Quest' joints that just hit retailers, black suede has figured quite prominently in the SB Blazer's recent plans. A pair of suede Blazers is one of those impeccable looks that deserves to be reproduced across the entire visible spectrum, and when you pair the lovely Rift Blue shade on this pair with grey nubuck for a range of crisp blues plus white on the vulc sole, you get one of the 'coolest' winter designs we've seen so far for the coming stretch of extended cold weather. Click through to see more angles after the jump and expect this pair at retailers next month.

Sneaks on the Ave: Nike Lebron 9 'Kentucky' Colorway, plus a couple other LBJ 9 colorways

Late last week, Jason Petrie gave us a first look at the Nike LeBron 9 'Kentucky' during a Q&A video chat session. It features a Royal Blue/Black upper with a white swoosh and outsole for that complete Wildcats appeal, but as we've mentioned before, it's hard not to see this as an 'Air Penny' colorway. We've already seen some of the other NCAA-inspired colorways, like the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Miami Hurricanes, so which of the three do you like best? These are slated for a release at select retailers like Oneness in Kentucky this Friday at midnight, so check out the extra shot of the Nike LeBron 9 'Kentucky'  above and be sure to stick with Sneaker News and BlvdAve for more release updates and information. Bonus: Here's a look at a couple other colorways of the Lebron 9.

Gaming News: IGN Reviews Spider-Man: Edge of Time

This title is available on Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3

Oh what a tangle web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. That sentiment, sadly, also applies to Edge of Time. It fails rather spectacularly to capitalise upon the potential of last year's Shattered Dimensions. Despite coming from the same developer, Beenox, it unstitches most of the things Shattered Dimensions did so well, creating a game that is in so many respects an unworthy follow-up.
Whilst not a direct sequel to Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time follows two of its protagonists – The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099. And the plot is fairly straightforward. In 2099, crazed scientist Walker Sloan, using experimental technology, travels back in time to establish the nefarious Alchemax corporation back in the 1970's.

He succeeds and time splinters, creating an alternate universe. In the process the original Peter Parker dies at the tentacular hands of Anti-Venom. So Spider-Man 2099 dragoons Peter Parker from the new, alternate timeline to help him rectify reality. Got it? Although this may read like an epic backdrop for a game, with the fate of the universe and the life of Spider-Man himself at stake, the way in which it is rendered makes it feel anything but.

Gaming News: Gamespot Reviews Forza Motorsport 4

Circuit-based racing games are repetitive by nature, but the deja vu you experience when playing Forza Motorsport 4 is especially pervasive--at least if you're familiar with its superb predecessor. You can't help noticing that the majority of the cars and tracks in Forza 4 also appeared in Forza 3. They look noticeably better now, which is no mean feat in itself, but early in your new racing career you could still be forgiven for wondering if developer Turn 10's latest offering might more appropriately have been titled Forza 3.5. Thankfully, that feeling dissipates as new features and improvements reveal themselves, and ultimately there's no doubt that this is a worthy sequel to one of the best racing games in recent memory.
