Sneaks on the AVE: Run-DMC x adidas Originals Superstar ’80s ‘My adidas’ out now !

If there was ever a time you desiered to walk through concert doors or roam all over coliseum floors, it very well might be now.  No, there's not another Live Aid/8 benefit concert coming up to commemorate the fifth birthday of the last one, but instead an anniversary for one of the first explicit instances of overlap between hip-hop culture and major sneaker brands.  The Run-DMC x adidas Originals Superstar 80s 'My adidas' 25th Anniversary edition commemorates five x five years since the song that gave a name to Three Stripes online customization service first hit radio airwaves.  These are unique for their use of custom embroidery on the rear as well as a dookie rope dubrae; are they the greatest shelltoe release of the last quarter-century?  Check out the images below and these dropped in stores this past Friday, November 11th. Truly a fittingly timed release for one of the rap game's oldest veteran groups.

Sneaks on the AVE: Burton x adidas Originals – Fall/Winter 2011 Footwear Preview

Over the past couple of decades, the big names in the sneaker industry have been forced to pay attention to the rising popularity of a host of action sports. Fast forward to 2011, and while the BMX'ers and skateboarders have gotten their fair share of love, snowboarding has yet to really cross-breed with the world of sneaker heads. We've got a look here at the three pairs included in the capsule, all of which stick to earthy tones and durable materials to have you looking right on the mountain. Freshness: adidas Originals Roundhouse – Iron / White/Reef

What is the single best adidas Originals lifestyle sneaker design not borrowed from one of Three Stripes’ classic models?

Since its debut last spring, many have answered that it’s the adidas Fortitude, a model that seamlessly melds rugged outdoor aesthetic traits with a smooth and satisfying lifestyle look.

And though it’s not a direct sequel, the new adidas Originals Roundhouse is a fitting follow-up, almost like tossing the Fortitude into a Boggle chamber for a totally different arrangement, then adding a midfoot strap.

The latest colorway to hit retailers is perfect for summer with a beachy tonal grey and teal look of which you can see more images after the jump, then grab a pair from FinishLine.

Hot or Not ?!? The original adidas LA Trainer

A trio of colorways from its sequel hit retailers earlier this year, but what about the original adidas LA Trainer?  The shoe with the crazy pegged sole design (both mid- and out-) has been resurrected by adidas Originals and this tonal ‘white’ look with metallic silver and royal blue accents manages a perfect balance between retro and simple style

So is this a case like many great films and books where the first one is always best?  Click through to see more and if you prefer the original, head over to Schuh-You to grab the adidas LA Trainer.

New Kicks: Adidas Originals Hard Court Hi

adidas Originals has been pushing its retro-inspired footwear releases quite strongly, focusing on heritage-based models like the adidas Originals Hard Court Hi. Four new colorways are set to hit stores this month; it features a mid/high cut with an oversized tongue featuring the adidas tre-foil logo, a simple vulcanized midsole, and a netted texture on the ankle. While these can be considered Retro-inspired, it does capture a sleek appeal that mixes contemporary styling with adidas’ classic look. The colorways you see here are a lot moree attention-seeking than the adiColor Pack that dropped two months ago, so watch for these four releases exclusively at Champs this month, and let us know which of the four colorways you like best.

Hot or Not ??? adidas Originals Roundhouse Mid – Black

adidas has had an impact on the lifestyle sneaker market with their classic models having helped to establish the aesthetic default.  And reimagined models, particularly Jeremy Scott’s capsule, have helped to keep things fresh but it’s considerably more rare to see a modern classic.  Will such praise be heaped upon the new aiddas Originals Roundhouse Mid?  The Roundhouse offers a pleasantly sweeping set of lines across its ankle-high vamp, this tonal black pair adding just a hint of red on the eyelets.  Click on the jump below to see more of the adidas Roundhouse, let us know how they compare to other midfoot-strapped lifestyle sneakers on the market (the Nike Air Yeezy series comes to mind) and stick with BlvdAve & Sneaker News  for updates on their release.  via Eastbay
