Sneaks on the Ave presents "FRESHNESS": Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Paul Nguyen – Wedding

Back in March, Sneaker News showed you one of the cleanest Nike Air Force 1 Bespokes to date, designed by Paul Nguyen.  Paul recently tied the knot with his longtime ladyfriend and as many hardcore sneakerheads are apt to do these days, Nguyen decided to wear a pair of his favorite kicks to the ceremony.  In Paul's case it was another AF1 Bespoke, a shoe he imagined in all croc skin with a black base and grey Swoosh for the only accent.

But when Nguyen learned from NIKEiD design consultant iZ that 21 Mercer had no grey croc left, Paul adapted and shifted his design "to give the shoe a more Asian wedding feel."  Click through to see more angles of the latest Air Force 1 Bespoke wedding design and let us know how they compare to the other kicks we've seen in formal settings.

Freshness: Nike SB Zoom FP – White – Gum

With Eric Koston’s first Nike SB signature sneaker and the crazy Kobe Bryant collabo are getting a ton of attention at the moment, you may have forgotten about the other Swoosh skateboarding shoe to which Koston was attached.  But just look back in the history books (or read through the Sneaker News archives) and you’ll find that Koston was the man of the hour when the “Technical without all the bells and whistles,” Nike SB Zoom FP hit retailers late last year.  Most of the colorways since then have been dark but here’s a new Future Primitive that looks dope in a mix of white and gold with a stripe on the forefoot midsole to suggest gum rubber.  Another great white summer sneaker alternative, you can find these at select Nike SB retailers like Goods.

Freshness: adidas Originals Roundhouse – Iron / White/Reef

What is the single best adidas Originals lifestyle sneaker design not borrowed from one of Three Stripes’ classic models?

Since its debut last spring, many have answered that it’s the adidas Fortitude, a model that seamlessly melds rugged outdoor aesthetic traits with a smooth and satisfying lifestyle look.

And though it’s not a direct sequel, the new adidas Originals Roundhouse is a fitting follow-up, almost like tossing the Fortitude into a Boggle chamber for a totally different arrangement, then adding a midfoot strap.

The latest colorway to hit retailers is perfect for summer with a beachy tonal grey and teal look of which you can see more images after the jump, then grab a pair from FinishLine.

Freshness: Nike Air Max Trainer 1: White – Varsity Royal – Volt

About six weeks ago, Sneaker News showed you images of a new Nike Air Max Trainer 1+ that’d just hit NikeStore.

The model was mostly white with Varsity Royal and Volt that drew comparisons to the upcoming LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Sprite’.

So when a slightly different version just popped up with the same Style code, we had to get to the bottom of the situation.

And as it turns out, the nearly-oppositely blocked edition pictured on their site is actually a sample model nixed in favor of the production model we showed you in the NikeStore drop.

Check through the photos, let us know if you like the production model more than the sample, and if so be aware that’s what you’ll receive when you order from Eastbay.

Freshness: Nike Air Max Skyline

The Nike Air Max Skyline was one of the first models to mark Nike Sportswear’s surge toward hybridization and modular design back in 2009, but we’ve only seen a single new colorway so far this year.  Make that two thanks to this new Air Max Skyline, a mostly black model with white and grey accents plus a burst of energy from select neon accents.

The Skyline already had that early ’90s look down pat and with the AM95-leaning neon incorporated this is far-reaching pastiche.  Click through to see some more angles and grab a pair from SNS.

Freshness: Nike Air Maestro

Nike’s hybrid theory: take a time-honored classic, adjust the tooling just a bit throw in some new-age technology, tweak the name a bit, and release it as a ‘new shoe’. For some shoes, the formula seems to wore (see: Air Max JR). For others, it’s one that’s best kept under wraps (see: Air Max-A-Lot). The upcoming Flight Maestro Plus has yet to release, but the scrutiny begins now; adapting the classic design of the Nike Air Maestro, the Flight Maestro Plus now features a visible Max Air at the heel and a re-done upper with details taken from the original, like the perforated segment on the upper, the placement of the swoosh, and the stitch panels on the heel/ankle. Four colorways of the Flight Maestro Plus are set to release – Black/White,  a NY Knicks inspired combination, White/Black/Red, and a Grey/Black/Blue – but where’s Scottie Pippen’s All-Star colorway? Check out the four upcoming colorways below and let us know what you think of this new ‘hybrid’ design. via CK.

FRESHNESS: Air Jordan XI IE Low Wht/Blk colorway

Was the Air Jordan XI IE Low the original ‘Quick Fused’ Air Jordan release?  Both the XI IE and the AJ2011QF are slightly altered versions of their flagship predecessor that feature increased ventilation atop a familiar sole design, but the XI takes it a bit further by cutting the height down below the ankle.  And despite these little wrinkles, it seems crazy that we’re only now seeing this ‘Concord’-style colorway fifteen years after the originals, but that just goes to prove that Jordan Brand has a huge variety of options on deck at any moment.

Check through to see more angles of the white/black AJXI IE Low and if you want to grab yours before they hit retail, check out the limited run currently available from kickslab.

Freshness: Foamposite Retro

The Foamposite madness continues in 2011 with the release of the Retro/Black colorway, one that Sneaker News previewed earlier this year. The ‘Retro’ color pigment can be described as a sparkling teal blue tone that takes on a cool, liquid-like form thanks to the flowing lines of the Foamposite upper. Like the Electric Green Foamposite Pro that released earlier this year, these are an instant eye-catcher that’ll surely break some necks on the streets from well-versed sneakerheads and the average layperson, and given the huge success of theLeBron 8 South Beach (rising in re-sale value every week), these might be a great substitution if you weren’t able to get a pair – just slap on some hot pink laces. We’ve got a detailed look below so take a look and stick with BlvdAve for more updates and information regarding these and all other 2011 Foamposite releases. via kicks-lab.

Freshness: New Balance 574 – Navy – Grey – 3M

New Balance has been on point with its releases both general release and limited collaboration. This new upcoming release of the undying New Balance 574 is no exception as it combines a simple yet eye-catching colorway with some interesting materials on the upper. The navy blue features a coated leather for a lux touch, while reflective 3M hits the heel tab and the over-sized New Balance logo on the upper. Throw in some grey mesh and hints of light blue on the tongue, heel, and midsole, and you’ve got another pair to throw in the rotation without thinking twice. More detailed images below, so take a look and watch for these at New Balance retailers soon. via HS.

Freshness: Zoom Kobe VI "Cool Grey" edition

Props to Kicks-lab.com

‘Cool Grey’ has been an ongoing theme with sneakers since the late-2010 release of the Jordan XI 'Cool Grey
The ‘Cool Grey’ moniker was quick to catch on with this upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe VI colorway, but this one’s actually Metallic Silver, similar to the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low that’s set for a release in the coming months.
The upper is a tonal metallic silver with a white swoosh, with the midsole adopting the same color combination.
These are similar to the Zoom Kobe V TB release from 2010 as well. Check out the detailed images below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates. via kicks-lab.

FRESHNESS: NIKE AIR JORDAN RETRO 5 BLK/SILVER

There are three brand new colorways of Air Jordan Vs set to hit retailers in the coming months, but don’t sleep on this classic OG look that’ll also be out soon.  The black and Metallic Silver AJ5 Retro will release as a part of Jordan Brand’s fall 2011 footwear collection, an unbeatable back to school option that’s every bit as clean as it was when it debuted twenty-one years ago.  It’s a foundational element of the Air Jordan Legacy that’s sure to sell out on arrival as Jordanheads look to capture the pristine retro flavor, so if you’re the type who likes to get yours early, check out the few sizes currently available from SneakerHotline.

FRESHNESS: Air Jordan XI IE Low

Its back !!!! Props to Kicks-Lab once again for the info. Although when these originally dropped back in the day I couldnt stand em, since then I have had a change of HEART !!! Its lowcut, heavily ventilated in-season sequel of a design can be seen to foreshadow modern basketball performance models like the Hyperfuse, LeBron 8 V2 and Zoom Kobe VI, which goes to prove that the Air Jordan XI IE Low was truly ahead of its time when it released in the summer of 1996. This original black and Red colorway has aged well, with the only notable change for this new release a smokey translucent sole that should serve to prevent any yellowing as you show these some love in your sneaker rotation over the next fifteen years. Check out the limited size run currently available from Kicks-Lab.

Definitely a must have during the hot summer days, ladies & gents if you're trying to be FRESH !! Plus THEY'RE JORDANS, you can never go wrong with Jordans baby !!!

Hot or Not ??? Nike SB dunk low space jam

The Air Jordan XI Space Jam was the hot shoe of the year leading up to its release in late 2009, earning it the top spot of Sneaker News’ Top 30 Sneaker of 2009. The Space Jam theme spilled over to 2010, as we saw a number of custom kicks, general release shoes, and even Air Force 1 Bespokes inspired by the gorgeous Air Jordan design, and for May 2011, Space Jam will touch down on the not-so-distant plane of Nike SB.

Here’s a look at the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Space Jam’, featuring a black patent leather upper paired with black mesh, roped laces (as seen on the Air Jordan XI), blue typefont on the tongue label and heel, and a translucent ‘ice’ sole paired with a white midsole. These SB Dunk beauties are a dream come from true for those who love seeing ‘cross-over’ projects, and this is certainly the best Space Jam SB Dunk that could possibly be imagined.

Freshness: Kids addition

With the Easter holiday a month away, expect to see a ton of pastel tones sprinkled around your local convenient store, church, or retail shop. This Air Jordan VII retro colorway for girls features nice easter-egg hues of blue and purple, matched perfectly with neutral grey – more like the Year of the Bunny instead of the Rabbit. Of course the connection between the AJ7 and the cuddly mammals goes back to Bugs Bunny and the Air Jordan VII ‘Hare’, but these 2011 releases provide a much-needed update to the classic colorway. These have begun to hit Jordan Brand retailers, so check your local spot to see if they’ve them in.

Color: Neutral Grey/Mineral Blue-Bright Violet-White

fRESHNESS: Air Jordan 3 ‘True Blue’

Three of the four original Air Jordan III colorways have/will see retro releases this year,
and with the Fire Reds out of the picture (at least for now),
‘White Cements’ having already dropped and
‘Black Cements’ on tap for the holiday season, any true Jordanhead could tell you which one’s left.

Check out these new photos of the 2011 Air Jordan 3 ‘True Blue’,
a model that’s picture perfect when compared to the OGs and should satisfy some of the frustrated fans who couldn’t get their hands on a pair when they dropped in ’09.

The question with a model of this legendary stature is often ‘How many,’
rather than ‘If’, but with all the aforementioned pairs plus the recent BHM and upcoming Stealth joints, which ones will you pick?

Freshness: Air Jordan VII Bordeaux available early !

It’s been five years since we last saw a prolonged release of the Air Jordan VII but nearly twenty since we last saw the Bordeaux. 2010-2011 will have been another wave of Air Jordan VII releases, and even among the Premio version and the strange logo-less sample we showed you, the Bordeaux colorway still grabs the most attention from our readers. It’s apparent that the Bordeaux is an acquired taste because it doesn’t exactly have the never-fail Bulls colorway. For some of our readers who have never seen a pair in person and never saw Jordan play in these during the ’92 All-Star Game, the Bordeaux was still considered a ‘grail’ and a certain must-have when it drops in April. That’s the power of an original colorway for ya.
